Graphene can be creatively utilized for a multitude of biomedical applications. KoreaGraph is at the forefront of wide ranging research is being conducted into potential medical applications for graphene, including diagnostic sensors, drug development and delivery and medical devices.
Diagnostic sensors are already under development with the aim of identifying the presence of diseases quickly and effectively. Graphene is also leading the way in drug and gene therapy delivery aiming to improve treatments for cancer by helping to target the delivery of drugs and therapies on the cancerous cells whilst minimizing the effect on health tissue.
Graphene also has antibacterial qualities, which we are investigating with the aim of reducing the risks of infection in hospitals. In addition, this enables graphene to be considered for medical devices and to be implanted into patient’s bodies as part of a biomechanical treatment.
